To put things into perspective, akidearest makes money thru her main job teaching English to people in Japan.(half the reason she was able to go live there) The other main is youtube which has been her bread and butter for a while now. Since she live with Joey and he has his youtube channel, podcast, and clothing line; they aren't hurting in terms of money. Both make enough to live comfortably in Japan.
The OF and Patreon it's just a side hustle to make extra money. Aki has always been into lewd/softcore stuff since her early days. However, her going fully nude wasn't really a thing do to her having her youtube account. If her youtube were to suffer, or if she were to lose it, I could see her getting more into the OF/patreon stuff.
To be frank, I don't think Joey doesn't have a say in the matter. He almost seems like, he could really care less of what she does just as long as she keeps her in of the deal. He doesn't show any real emotion when she in the driver seat when it comes to content she makes.

He has a clothing brand ??. I guess one should not be surprised. any youtuber can sell merch if they have a big enough audience. most of the merch sold by youtubers is conveyor belt levels of trash, but if it has a somewhat popular name on it then it sells I guess. only difference is the popular names these days come from social media deadite's.

He's not just "a YouTuber selling merch". He's managed to pull collabs with Eva, Dan Da Dan, Chainsaw Man, and Cyberpunk. Though with a cursory Google search, people are talking about shit experience after shit experiences, and that the company isn't run all that well, which wouldn't surprise me.
